ZAMCOPS’ mandate is to represent composers, authors, and publishers of music in Zambia who voluntarily register as members. It also represents foreign organizations with which it has reciprocal agreements. However, the primary focus is within Zambia. It is headquartered in Lusaka and has offices in Livingstone to cater for the southern part of the country and Kitwe for the Copperbelt and Northwestern Provinces
The General Membership, which is the supreme body, elects Board of Directors to spearhead the running of the society every three years at an Annual General Meeting. Normal Annual General Meetings are held every year.
